Abstract

Ang mga kuwentong-bayan at alamat ay nagsisilbing mahalagang imbakan ng kolektibong gunita, panlipunang karanasan, at kultural na pagkakakilanlan ng isang komunidad. Sinuri sa kwalitatibong pag-aaral na ito ang Alamat ng Barangay Atulayan bilang isang tekstong kultural na naglalaman ng lokal na kaalaman, kolektibong alaala, at pagkakakilanlang pangkomunidad. Nakapaloob ang alamat sa Compilation of the Legends of Calauag, isang koleksiyon ng mga alamat na tinipon ng mga guro ng Calauag noong 1963. Inilalarawan ng alamat ang mga karanasan hinggil sa espasyo, migrasyon, tunggalian, at sakripisyo ng mga pangkat na tinutukoy sa salaysay bilang Baluga at Aeta. Ginamit sa pagsusuri ang Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) nina Braun at Clarke (2021) upang matukoy ang mga umuusbong na tema hinggil sa espasyo, kapangyarihan, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan. Isang mahalagang katangian ng pag-aaral ang paggamit ng insider–outsider positionality, kung saan pinagsama ang lokal na kaalaman ng mga mananaliksik na may ugnayan sa Barangay Atulayan at ang akademikong pananaw ng isang dalubhasang katuwang mula sa Philippine Normal University South Luzon upang makabuo ng repleksibo at balanseng interpretasyon ng alamat. Ipinakita ng pagsusuri na ang mga espasyo, simbolo, at pangyayari sa alamat ay nagsisilbing tagapagdala ng kolektibong alaala, ugnayang panlipunan, kapangyarihan, at pagkakakilanlan ng komunidad. Ang mga pook tulad ng Ilog Bung-awan at Tulay na Bato ay lumalampas sa pagiging mga tagpuan ng naratibo at nagiging mga simbolikong espasyo ng kasaysayan at patuloy na pagbuo ng identidad. Lumitaw din na ang alamat ay hindi lamang salaysay ng pinagmulan kundi isang buhay na daluyan ng kulturang lokal na patuloy na binibigyang-kahulugan ng komunidad. Higit pa rito, ipinahihiwatig ng pag-aaral na ang mga lokal na naratibo ay maaaring magsilbing mahalagang sanggunian sa pagpapanatili ng pamanang kultural at sa pagbuo ng inklusibo, kulturang sensitibo, at kontekstuwalisadong edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng pagpapahalaga sa lokal na kaalaman, karanasan, at pakikilahok ng komunidad. Sa kabuuan, nag-aambag ang pag-aaral sa dokumentasyon, pangangalaga, at pagpapayaman ng panitikang-bayan ng Atulayan, habang ipinakikita ang potensiyal ng mga lokal na alamat bilang batis ng kaalamang pangkultura, pagpapanatili ng pamanang kultural, at paglinang ng makabuluhang edukasyon sa digital na panahon.
