Abstract

Isinagawa ang pananaliksik na ito gamit ang pamamaraang Descriptive at Research and Development upang makabuo ng isang programa sa pagbasa sa pagdebelop ng antas ng kasanayan ng mga mag-aaral ng General Santos City National High School. Nilayon ng pag-aaral na ito na matukoy ang antas ng kasanayan sa pagbasa sa aspektong pagkilala ng salita, pag-unawa sa binasa at ang paraan ng pagbabasa ng mga mag-aaral. Ang naging respondente sa pag-aaral na ito ay isandaan labing-anim (116) na mag-aaral, tatlong (3) dalubhasang guro sa Filipino, at tatlong (3) mga koordineytor sa pagbasa. Natuklasan sa pag-aaral na may kasanayan sa pagkilala ng mga salita ang mga mag-aaral subalit may kabiguan sa kasanayang pag-unawa sa binasa. Nakitaan din na may lubhang kahinaan sa indikasyon ng paraan ng pagbabasa na walang damdamin at walang pagbabago ang tono, bahagya o walang paraan ng pagsusuri at nagbababasa nang paisa-isang salita ang mga mag-aaral. Natuklasan din ng mananaliksik na ang nabuong programa sa pagbasa ay lubos na katanggap-tanggap ang ibinigay na balidasyon ng mga dalubhasang guro sa Filipino at mga koordineytor sa pagbasa. Inirekomenda ng mananaliksik na ang nabuong pampaaralang programa sa pagbasa ay isang mabisang kasangkapan sa pagdebelop ng kasanayan sa pagbasa ng mga mag-aaral kaya hinihikayat na gamitin ito ng mga guro.
